Pillar 02

Private AI Models

Custom models trained on your data and run inside your own walls. Your prompts, documents and answers stay on infrastructure you control.

Public AI services are useful, and every prompt sent to them leaves your building. For legal, medical, financial and proprietary work, that can rule them out.

We build small, specialized models that live on your own servers or in a private cloud account you own. Your data trains them and your team uses them. None of it is sent to an outside AI provider.

How we build them

01

Assess

We map which tasks need a model, what data you have, and the hardware or private cloud it will run on.

02

Choose the base

An open-weight model adapted to your field, or a small model trained from scratch when you need full control over what it learned.

03

Train and ground

Fine-tuning on your documents and examples, plus retrieval over your knowledge base so answers point back to your sources.

04

Evaluate

Test sets built from your real cases. We measure quality before anything reaches your team.

05

Deploy in your environment

On-premises servers, workstations or your own AWS, Azure or Google Cloud account, with access controls and logging.

06

Hand over

You own the model weights, the code and the documentation. We stay on for support if you want us.

From the lab

Why small models

A model that does one job well can be far smaller than a general-purpose chatbot. Small models cost less to run, respond quickly on modest hardware, and are easier to inspect and test. Our research lab, CoburnicusLabs, grows language models from scratch in public, so we know how these systems work from the first line of code.

About CoburnicusLabs

Is this a fit?

Good fits include internal knowledge assistants over policies and manuals, document classification and extraction, drafting in your house style, support triage, and search across private records.
